Upcoming Climate Conference -- Working Together: Healing Our Climate and Our Nation

On Friday, January 26th and Saturday, January 27th, Citizens' Climate Lobby and Citizens' Climate Education will host its 2018 Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference at the University of the District of Columbia Student Center. Registration closes Friday, January 19.

From the conference website: "No single individual can create the political will for a stable climate on their own, and that's what Citizens' Climate Lobby (CCL) is all about. Preventing the most catastrophic global impacts of climate change will require strong action by the U.S. Congress to initiate a transformation of the global economy to one that allows for a safe and healthy future. CCL's goal is to generate the political will necessary for passage of our Carbon Fee and Dividend proposal and to empower individual volunteers to engage elected officials, the media, and the public. The goals of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference are to make us more effective in our work through:

  • meeting in person to discuss region- and state-specific strategies

  • networking and getting to know other volunteers in our region

  • advanced training in lobbying, working with the media, and other specific skills

  • encouraging each other and building the optimism and resilience we need to move forward

We also welcome members of the public, media, local government, and business leaders to join us."
