Tropical Storm Cristobal sets new record

This is the earliest ever occurrence of a third named storm in the Atlantic basin. It's also the first time in 10 years a tropical storm has crossed from the Pacific to the Atlantic. Tropical Storm Amanda formed in the Pacific, made landfall in Guatemala, and reemerged in the Atlantic as Tropical Storm Cristobal. See more satellite photos here:
