Got Lead? Potential New Method for Recycling Printer Toner

Electronic waste is toxic -- sufficiently toxic that the federal government regulates it as hazardous solid waste, subject to a number of environmental regulations.

A new study out in ACS Sustainable Chemistry and Engineering describes a new method to recycle printer ink toners back into usable lead. If it works, we could eliminate at least one toxic leachant from landfills.
